Team Lebron Defeats Team Giannis Following Impressive Second Half Comeback

Highlights were aplenty during the 2019 NBA All-Star Game.

The 2019 NBA All-Star Game is a wrap as Team LeBron was able to flip a 20-point halftime deficit into a 178-164 victory Sunday night (February 17).

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo came out hot and would eventually be a part of the most insane highlight of the night. Toward the end of the second quarter and on a fast break, Stephen Curry made a bounce pass to the Milwaukee Bucks forward that seemed like it got lost in the rafters before it dropped to Giannis, who went way above the rim for the oop slam.

  • Halftime would mark a major turning point in the game however. Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal and Klay Thompson began the third quarter hot, splashing away 3-pointers to close the scoring gap. The starters then made their way back onto the floor as LeBron James returned, contributing 19 points and eight rebounds.

Kevin Durant led his team with 31 points and seven rebounds, earning him the game’s MVP award. Giannis led all scorers with 38 points, while his Bucks teammate Khris Middleton and Paul George contributed 20 a piece for Team Giannis.

The 2019 All-Star Game MVP award was Durant’s second in his career. "We just started making shots ... and we took off from there," Durant told TNT's Ernie Johnson after accepting his trophy postgame. LeBron James improved to 2-0 as a captain since the NBA All-Star Game changed to a draft format in 2018.
