The saga between the Golden State Warriors and Drake continued well into Game 3 of the NBA Finals. With the Warriors having home-court advantage, the team decided to troll the Canadian rapper long before tip-off.
During the team warm-up at the Oracle Arena on Wednesday, Pusha T’s “The Story of Adidon” blasted from the speakers. The song was famously released during a diss track battle between Pusha T and Drake back in 2018.
Pusha T’s personal insults to Drake provided a shady soundtrack for Steph Curry and the rest of his teammates to shoot around to.
Unfortunately, for the Warriors, Drake was a no-show for Game 3, so they couldn’t see his reaction in real time. And to make the situation even worse, the team also struggled to keep a lead over the Toronto Raptors and ended up losing the game 123-109.
After the Raptors secured their second win of the series, Drake immediately took a shot at Warriors guard Klay Thompson on Instagram.
In an Instagram Story posted after the game, the Toronto native posted a photo of Thompson partying with women from what appears to be a more celebratory occasion.
“Stay Golden my friends,” Drake wrote on the post along with several laugh-crying emojis.
After Game 2 of the finals, Thompson and teammate Kevin Durant, who has not played at all during the finals due to an injury, were seen mocking Drake in the locker room after the Warriors won.
One can only assume Drake’s post was a bit of revenge.
Thompson, who strained his hamstring in Game 2, had to sit out for Game 3 but is expected to play in Game 4 on Friday.
