Odell Beckham Jr. Made His Browns Debut In A $350,000 Watch – And The Internet Went Crazy
Odell Beckham Jr. walked out onto the field at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland on Sunday (September 9) for his regular season debut as a member of the Browns sporting a Richard Mille RM 011 Orange Storm Men's Watch.
Why does that matter, you ask?
Because depending on what retailer you find, that watch sells for approximately $350,000. Talk about a flex. OBJ took the field to play NFL football with more than a quarter million on his wrist.
While that may seem like a lot of money for a timepiece to the average person, OBJ is anything but. He became the fastest wide receiver to amass 5,000 career receiving yards last season, needing only 54 games.
He signed a five-year, $90 million dollar contract extension earlier this year when he was a member of the New York Giants before he was dealt to the Browns in a stunner.
No matter. That contract is still valid and has $65 million guaranteed. So a $350K watch is barely one half of one percent. He’s good.
Still, the Browns got shellacked by the Tennessee Titans on Sunday 43-13, and OBJ had a quiet seven catches for 71 yards on 11 targets.
The loss coupled with the money on the wrist got the internet going crazy.
