Terrell Roberts was shot and killed on Wednesday night in Richmond, California, according to CNN.
Roberts, a former DB for the Cincinnati Bengals, was at his grandmother’s home on Fascination Circle when someone entered the residence and shot him. Roberts was 38.
Richmond police Sgt. Enrik Melgoza said officers arrived and found Roberts in the backyard of the home with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the shooting happened in the garage after a disturbance between Roberts and the suspect. Roberts then stumbled out to the backyard where officers found him.
Melgoza said that witnesses described the suspect as a Black man between 20 and 35 years old, bald with a short beard, weighing about 250 pounds, and wore a black T-shirt.
No arrests have been made.
