Floyd Mayweather, Longtime Advisor Have Falling Out - About a week after Floyd Mayweather scored a unanimous decision victory over Marcos Maidana, an ESPN report pointed out that the undefeated champion and his longtime adviser, and current CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbee, weren’t seeing eye to eye. "I think we're just getting to a point where we're outgrowing each other. I think I just see things my way and I think he sees things in another way," Mayweather told Fighthype.com. Mayweather took exception to the fact that his WBC and WBA titles in both weight classes were on the line without his approval and that his daughter was seated in the front row without her mother sitting next to her — both of which seemed to fall on Ellerbee. Bernard Hopkins - One would be hard pressed to find someone who truly understands boxing’s current climate — both the business side and in the ring — more than Bernard Hopkins. As the president of the East Coast chapter of Golden Boy Promotions, B-Hop has worked behind the scenes in not only conceiving certain bouts but seeing them all the way to fruition. Considering he’s still active at 49 years old, few would be able to relate to a veteran boxer’s needs like Floyd Mayweather’s as Hopkins could. Oscar De La Hoya - To this day, Floyd Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya don’t care for each other. But as history shows, they didn’t have to be friends to make money together. Although Mayweather mainly worked with Richard Schaefer, the ex-CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, De La Hoya was still front and center for many of Mayweather’s most memorable bouts.
