Dr. Maya Angelou passes and more!

Dr. Maya Angelou - Literary phenom, poet and grandmother to all, Dr. Maya Angelou passed away at 86 on May 28. Known for penning classics like “And Still I Rise” and I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, she also was highly respected throughout the recording industry. Dr. Angelou recorded a Calypso album in 1957 at the age of 29 and won two Grammy Awards for spoken word projects.
