Earlier this morning, the world was shocked to hear about the passing of the legendary creator and host of Soul Train, Don Cornelius. His contributions to music and television history opened the door for a network like BET to exist and a show like 106 & Park to have the influence that they do today.

Soul Train came on the scene in 1971 and was hosted by Mr. Cornelius from that point up until 1993. After that, the show continued to be the “hippest trip in America” and kept exposing new talent and having an impact on youth everywhere. Think about it, where else on TV would you get to see people dance down the “Soul Train line” to the hottest songs of the moment?

Tonight, tune into a very special episode of 106 & Park that is dedicated to the life, influence and memory of the man who promoted nothing but “love, peace, and soul,” Mr. Don Cornelius, at 6P/5C.
