Yup! If you don't already know, the infamous '90s R&B female group Xscape has reunited! Xscape consists of group members Tameka "Tiny" Harris, Kandi Burruss and sisters LaTocha and Tameka Scott. In an interview with Atlanta's V-103, the group announced that they will be getting back together. In the early 2000s, the group fell apart due to their differences and have stated in the past that they were not reuniting. Now, after almost two decades of being separated, all four of the original members are going to be teaming up again! We're here for this reunion!
Even though the ladies are busy with their personal lives and television shows, they don't shy away from being a part of charity. In 2014, group member Tameka "Tiny" Harris, alongside her husband T.I., organized a charity event for Alzheimer's. The charity aimed to teach and support families that are dealing with Alzheimer's disease. The foundation was started to honor Tiny's father, who suffered from the disease and passed away in 2013.
While on Bravo's hit show Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss makes sure she makes time for numerous charities. One of the organizations, Kandi Caries, was created by Kandi with the intent to educate and empower single parents and their kids.
As if the group didn't snatch our wigs enough with the announcement of their reunion, they recently dropped another bomb. On June 12, it was announced that they will be headed to the small screen to embark on a new Bravo special. The docu-series will document their lives as they work on bringing the group back. We're gearing up to grab our popcorn. The docu-series will premiere in the fall of this year!
In 1991, the group signed to Jermaine Dupri's label, So So Def, after Dupri heard them perform at his birthday party that same year. From there, they hit the ground running and later released their first album, Hummin Comin' At 'Cha on October 12, 1993. Their hit single "Just Kickin' It" topped multiple charts after its release.
Tiny and Kandi co-wrote what is arguably TLC's most notable song, "No Scrubs." Tiny also lent her vocals to help sing the chorus on the song. "No Scrubs" went on to be a domestic and international hit!
Not only is Tamika Scott an amazing singer, she also doubles down as an actress and ordained minister! She, along with the rest of the ladies, is multi-talented!
After the group's break up in late 1999, LaTocha Scott found herself focusing on her own career like the other ladies. In 1999, she released "Liar Liar," which also appeared on The Best Man soundtrack.
