Kierra "Kiki" Sheard was born in Detroit, Michagan. She is the daughter of Karen Clark-Sheard, who is also a member of the Clark Sisters. Kierra started singing gospel music at the early age of six in the church.
When Kierra was 10 years old, she made her show biz debut on her mother's Finally Karen album in 1997. The collaboration with her mom helped her snag a Best Children's Performance Award at the Stellar Awards.
During high school, Kierra was very active in music. She went on to debut her first album, I Owe You, which gained great reviews. Post high school, Kierra released her second album in, This Is Me, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Gospel Album chart.
By 2010, Kierra began to be seen more on the big screen by landing a role in Preacher's Kid. After the film debuted, her and her family landed a reality TV show right here on BET entitled The Sheards. The show followed Kierra and her family around as they lived their daily lives.
Kierra is a graduate of Wayne State University in Michigan. At the school, she majored in English and had a minor in psychology.
In June of 2015, Kierra started her clothing line, Eleven60, that was inspired by her mother and the average curvy boss chick. She advocates for loving the skin that you're in and embracing your curves. The clothing line was intended to make all curvy sophisticated women feel great in their clothing.
Kierra headlined her first tour, the Bridges Tour, this year! It started in August and ran through the end of October. Even with the tour, one stop she has yet to make is the White House!
Kierra Sheard is among the list of amazing artists performing for President Barack Obama and his family. She will sing sweet soulful music at the farewell event.
