Released in 1992, a year after Boyz N the Hood and before Menace II Society, South Central also offers a bleak but hopeful portrait of one man's attempts to prevent history from repeating itself.

Central themes include breaking the cycle of violence, the role of the prison system in America and how education is necessary for one to grow. Although not as bold as its contemporaries, South Central continues to have a luminous place due to it's reconillatory nature and attempts to send a message. Catch this Star Cinema classic on September 14 at 1A/12C!
