Taraji always remembers her humble beginnings. From her making mention of how she got her start in acting in her acceptance speeches to having a full-on jam session with her girls in the Apple Music commercial, she always knows how to stay rooted in where she came from.
It goes without saying that Taraji is definitely a style diva. At every red carpet event, she makes you stop and look. And while playing her character Cookie on Empire, she's all types of luxurious!
Taraji is not like the rest. From head to toe, she is a natural sista! Can we just take some time to applaud her for proving that natural is still the bomb way to go?
For her MAC Viva Glam line, a collab between her and Jussie Smollett, every cent goes toward helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. This women is truly unmatched! Her heart to help others is just incredible.
Even if it wasn't for the awards she's racked up, we all still very well know Taraji is hands-down an amazing actress. From movies such as Hidden Figures, Think Like a Man, I Can Do Bad All by Myself and, most notably, Baby Boy to shows such as Empire, she's raised the bar for Black actresses everywhere. Take some notes, ladies!
Growing up, Taraji did not have it easy, but she managed to conquer the seemingly endless obstacles in her way and come out on top. If she can do it, you can do it, too!
Taking the high road and standing up for what's right may not always be easy, but it's noble. We value Taraji for being one of the many women who have continued to take a stand for her beliefs in justice, politics and equality.
Taraji has shown on many occassions that she stands by her ladies, especially women of color who have systemically been the target for injustice and inequality. We thank Taraji for continuing to value and honor our Black women, raising us up and inspiring us to be great!
