We live for performances from the likes of Kelly Rowland, Beyoncé, Michelle, En Vogue and TLC. What's the common thread? Choreographer and brand amplifier Frank Gatson. To promote his latest project with the lovely, Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist Kelly Rowland, Gatson recently offered a master dance class at Crunch in NYC to teach participants what it really takes to be a star.
"A lot of people think that stars are a-holes, and some of them are, but I think those kind of people die horrible deaths and I think their careers go away. But I think the people who've had long careers stay on," the choreographer said.
On April 5 at 10:30P/9:30C, Gatson and Rowland embarked on a journey to find the next major girl group. When asked how he feels about the young ladies who he and Rowland have picked, he had this to say: "We have the best [girl] group ever in life."
One thing's for sure, he and Rowland looked "for stars, not reality stars." Frank even revealed, "There's a person that I saw from the beginning that would make it. No one else saw though." Frank even left us with one of his Frank Gatson-isms: "Rehearsal's like sex... I truly believe, like, if you have a show the next day, don't have sex 'cause that power that you give to another human being through your sexual experience with them, I think you can use that on stage to give to the audience. [There's] magic that's in you."
Now that the group is chosen, we're excited to see what the ladies will produce. Many congrats to Frank and Kelly! The girl group game just got five new members.
