Fellas, let’s be real for a second. Even though James Brown declared that “this is a man’s world,” Beyoncé’s hit “Who run the world? Girls!” put everything back into perspective. According to the Harvard Business Review, women control the lion’s share of consumer spending in the United States (and in a number of other countries). Naturally, products, services, media and more would be tailored to the interests of those who are spending the most money. Jeff Johnson, and the team behind BET’s Mancave thought it was time for a show centered around men that’s for both men AND women. Scroll down below to see a few reasons why both parties should watch.
There's never been another show like this. A place where men can have real, authentic conversations about everything from politics, culture, lifestyle, relationship, sports and family all in one place. Nothing is off limits and the talk is always informative, entertaining and pure.
If you've ever wanted an inside look at the conversations Black men are having day to day, this is the one place to get it. And it isn't limited to the few topics people think men talk about. It's everything being said behind closed doors. This is what television has been missing — until now!
Black men need an escape. They need a space where they can take a break from the pressures society places on them and have conversations where they can relax, unwind, laugh, think, cry, turn up or whatever the hell they please! It doesn't exist out there, so we're creating it here, inside the Mancave.
Stay tuned for the premiere of BET's Mancave coming in January. In the mean time, get to know more about the man whose vision brought the Mancave to life.
