Faith Evans is more than a multi Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer, she is also a TV exec, bestselling author and, most important, a mom. Evans started her career more than two decades ago and has accomplished more than most people would in a lifetime.
When the star first started her career, she worked as a background singer for many notable artists like Al B. Sure! and others. After working on her craft, she got signed as the first female member of Bad Boy Records by Diddy. It was within Bad Boy that Evans started to rule the hip-hop/R&B era and created her own lane in the industry.
Evans dropped her debut album, Faith, in 1995, and with its success, the album went certified platinum. Following in the success of her studio debut album, Evans’ other subsequent albums, such as Keep the Faith and Faithfully, achieved the platinum-certified status as well. Her achievements don’t stop there. From Grammy Award wins to additional albums reaching gold-certified status, Evans’ hard work was nonstop.
By 2012, the star shifted her talents from not only singing in front of the camera to being behind the camera as well. In August of 2012, Evans co-created, executive produced and starred in her R&B Divas reality television series on TV One. The show went on to being highly acclaimed and was one of the most-watched premiere in the lifetime of TV One show premieres. The title of the show spawned another R&B Divas project for Evans, and that was her compilation album. In 2014, the R&B Divas compilation album earned the star her seventh Grammy Award nomination for Best R&B Album.
In 2014, Evans also released her sixth studio album, Incomparable. The album featured many great names such as Missy Elliot, Sharaya J, Keke Wyatt, The Clark Sisters ad more! Upon release, Incomparable hit number 17 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart.
The First Lady of Bad Boy hasn’t gone anywhere since she started and isn’t ready to go anywhere now. Evans was a part of Diddy’s Bad Boy Reunion Tour in 2016, which excited thousands of fans in 19 different cities! A year later in 2017 Evans released The King & I, a duet album with Notorious B.I.G. The album featured '90s and early 2000s hip-hop stars such as Jadakiss, Styles P, Lil Kim, Lil Cease and so much more!
Faith Evans’ work throughout the decades speaks for itself. She has proven that her voice is powerful enough to move rooms. The star continues to shine and, while famously known as the First Lady of Bad Boy, she’s also the First Lady of Soul!
