Spring is upon us and it's just about that time when single folks are looking for a fun summer romance. One brilliant young man named Thomas C. Knox has come up with a great way to do just that, without the use of apps. The New York City resident invented "Date While You Wait," and the concept is both simple and kinda genius.
Knox set up a table between platforms in NYC's 34th Street Subway station — one of the busiest in the city — topped with a vase of flowers and a game of Connect Four. The idea is that any two people can sit down at the table and spend a moment getting to know each other as they wait for their trains. Hence, "Date While You Wait."
Knox says the pairings don't have to be romantic. You could just sit down across from someone and talk about your day and perhaps make a new friend. The idea, he says, is to "bring people together to communicate." He's hoping to spread the concept to other NYC subway stations, Washington, D.C., and anywhere else you might wind up waiting around and dreaming up ways to holler at somebody. We can see this popping up at car washes, post offices, the DMV...the possibilities are endless!
Kudos to Knox for finding a creative way to get busy people to connect, face-to-face.
