A Company Has Actually Created a Mattress to Catch Cheaters

Maybe Beyoncé had one of these?

Published April 29, 2016

Thanks to Beyoncé's Lemonade, infidelity has been on America’s mind as of late. And with snooping apps and good old-fashioned detective work, many of us know how to sniff out a cheater. But a new invention can help strengthen your inner Nancy Drew.

Enter: The Smarttress, with the Love Detection System.

This mattress, made from the Spanish company Durmet, is aimed to help address the worldwide cheating epidemic, they claim.

So, how does it work?

According to the company’s website, the mattress is embedded with 24 ultrasound sensors that can pick up on movement and vibration. If there is any “bounce action” or intense movement, through an app they will send you "a 3D image that shows how the bed is being used from the side and the front, the Huffington Post noted.

Yeah, it’s like that.

Since news hit about the product, clearly folks have been skeptical pointing out all the ways that someone could get a false detection, like your dog or babies jumping on the bed. Not to mention, some folks have seriously questioned if this is even real.

But company spokesperson Antonio Muiño confirmed to Re/Code that it’s not a prank — it’s for realz — and the technology can distinguish between two bodies grinding and Fido playing on the bed.

Now, not everyone can afford the hefty $1,750 Smarttress. But don’t fret: you have time to save up for it. Muiño told the tech website that mattress is still in the “manufacturing process.”

In the meantime, you can continue to go through your partner’s phone and stalk them on social media. That’s still completely free.

What do you think? Would you go to these lengths to find out if your mate is cheating? Tell us in the comments below!
