It's been just under a year since Rachel Dolezal was outed as a white woman after portraying herself as African-American for most of her life. And yes, it was a story so crazy that lots of folks were puzzled as to how she pulled it off for as long as she did. If you've been following her story, you'd know her knack for curly Afros, box braids and two-strand twists helped make her passable, at least to the uninitiated, over the years. Now, the wannabe homegirl is back with another new 'do.
A photo of Dolezal made the rounds on social media yesterday in which she proudly showed off her mane, which featured twisted roots pulled into a high pony tail with the ends left loose and kinky. The former NAACP leader posted on Instagram that her son Langston "wants held by his mommy 24/7, so I didn't have time to braid all the way to the ends…#mommystyle."
To make it a little more awkward, she said her style reminded her of "Jasmine from Boondocks." Yep, you read that right: now she's copping looks from a literal cartoon character. Susie Carmichael and Penny Pride better stay woke.
