It’s been a week or so since Angela Simmons revealed to the world that she and her fiancé, Sutton Tennyson, are expecting their first child. It's quickly becoming clear that she’s not going to hold back in the gym just because she’s expecting.
Anyone who follows Simmons on social media knows that she is hard-core about her daily workouts with her trainer. She often posts videos of her workouts on Instagram, showing off how strong and fit she is. Although some of her followers are making comments about her toning down her workouts now that she's pregnant, Simmons is working with multiple trainers to help her determine the best workouts for this new phase of her life, and she doesn’t seem to be doing more than she was doing pre-pregnancy.
There are also multiple benefits for both the mother and the baby when an expecting mom works out. Studies have shown that children who were exposed to exercise while in the womb had improved mental and physical health from childhood on into adulthood. Also there are an endless amount of benefits for the mother. According to the American Pregnancy Association, working out while preggers can help with the pains that come with carrying a child, including backaches, swelling and constipation. It also boosts your energy, mood, improve your posture, and help you sleep better. Not to mention another benefit that Simmons surely cares about — exercise can also help get a mother back in shape faster once the baby is here.
Simmons obviously cares deeply about working out, so of course it only makes sense that she would continue her exercise regimen during her pregnancy. There will always be people making judgments and comments on social media, but Simmons and every pregnant woman has to determine what is best for themselves and their baby.
