We're big fans of Keke Palmer over here and anything the young starlet does is pretty much #goals.
Showing off long locks and wearing a cute daisy-printed set on Galore magazine is their newest cover star, Keke Palmer. The Scream Queens star chats about being a part of the second season of the hit show, on Miley Cyrus twerking, and her thoughts on cultural appropriation.
On Miley’s twerk fever…
“Miley Cyrus has always been that, I’ve known her since she was a kid. That’s always what she’s been into. If she loves hip-hop music and she loves hip-hop culture, that’s what she loves. My sister is a Black girl and she loves alternative music and people think she’s weird [laughing].”
On White Girl in braids…
“To not be OK with it would be like saying Black people shouldn’t get perms. This goes back to my same message about labels… having braids doesn’t make you Black and having straight hair doesn’t make you white. We’re thinking too hard on things, honestly. I’m not really caring about whether or not someone who is not Black got braids in their hair.”
Photos from the spread inside show a more grown up version of the former Disney kid. Posing in a fishnet body suit, Chanel bustier and nipple pasties puts the 23-year-old’s edgier sense of self on display for all to see.
