Dancing With the Stars star and Slut Walk founder Amber Rose is not here for anyone degrading her physique. The 32-year old clapped back at judge Julianne Hough, accusing her of body-shaming after Hough critiqued her performance of the salsa on Monday’s episode.
Rose sounded off on her podcast Loveline With Amber Rose, saying, “It was a point in the dance where I had to lift my leg up and Maks dipped me and [Julianne] said, ‘Oh, I’m uncomfortable,’ and I instantly, I felt, I did feel body-shamed.”
The How to Be a Bad B***h author continued, “You know, all the beautiful professional dancers that are on Dancing With the Stars, I mean they dress very sexy and they do splits and they grind up on these guys and they look absolutely stunning and they get a standing ovation. And for me, and my body, my hips, my a**, my breasts, made her uncomfortable.”
Hough, 28, however denies being “uncomfortable” about Rose’s body, telling E! News this misunderstanding is a result of bad editing on the show’s part.
“To be clear, that was a produced package, not live coverage and they can put those sound bites anywhere. My ‘uncomfortable’ comment was about the fact that I felt like I wanted more out of the performance, when someone is doing a hot, sexy dance like that without the right amount of energy that is required, it can be uncomfortable to watch.
“Trust me I’m ALL for a sexy booty dance!! We all know that!! And any kind of body-shaming goes against everything I believe in,” Hough added.
According to US Weekly, in a statement issued to Entertainment Tonight on Friday, Hough continued to defend herself saying, “I have been a strong proponent of female empowerment and an anti-bullying advocate for years and I take that very seriously. Any kind of body-shaming is the furthest thing from who I am and what I stand for.”
Well, here’s what we do know: Rose’s professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy always has Muva’s back — and her backside.
What do you think? Was Amber Rose body-shamed? Or was it all just a big misunderstanding?
