When I walk into a suite at a downtown hotel where Pat McGrath is hosting the launch of her latest cult makeup product, it would be wise to keep on my sunglasses as everything is illuminated by splash sequins strewn all over the room. McGrath’s signature packaging is flashy, literally, as is her latest iteration from her eponymous makeup collection.
McGrath, who is the muva of makeup regularly beats the faces of Naomi Campbell, Kim Kardashian and Willow Smith, not to mention the work that she does for the runways of Dolce and Gabbana, Fendi, Margiela and Versace. Not that you need her resume because everyone knows that McGrath is the best.
Today, she launches the fifth release of her namesake product collection, which serves a dual purpose as an anniversary collection since the first product out of Pat McGrath's lab made its debut last year. This collection is called metalmorphosis and it includes a gold, silver and bronze cream pigment and pressed powder. The idea behind McGrath’s collection is to encourage people to maximize their creativity, therefore these are everything products. You can use any of them on your eyes, cheeks or lips. McGrath likes to work by starting with a base and then adding more and more. This is the ethos behind creating metalmorphosis.
McGrath says, “The family that stays together, slays together" on creating 3 different shades that will be sold in a super-pack together and individually.
Every single one of these releases has sold out faster than a Supreme drop, so I’m doing you a huge favor by letting you know that Lust005 officially drops on PatMcGrath.com on November 15th and select Sephora on November 22th.
