New Balance released a statement last night announcing their support of president-elect Donald Trump, siting dissatisfaction with President Obama and his administration as the cause.
Wall Street Journal reporter Sara Germano tweeted the highlights from the New Balance statement. The tweet summarized, "The Obama admin turned a deaf ear to us & frankly w/ Pres-Elect Trump we feel things are going to move in the right direction."
"The right direction." Cool.
The public response has been fast and furious. People are reportedly burning their New Balance sneakers and tossing them in the trash as a response. New Balance has issued an updated statement, which does not retract their original thoughts.
In short, they are still here for a Trump presidency. Nike, on the other hand, is very much with Obama. Happy shopping!
