There is always a new nail “trend.” Always. In the past couple of years, we’ve gone from loving nail art to hating nail art to going natural to acrylics to “coffin nails” and even furry nails. There is always something to be done with manicures. And now, we have sweater nails.
Sweater nails are pretty much exactly what they sound like: nails made to look like a chunky sweater (generally cable-knit). They’re most easily achievable with a salon manicure, where technicians can use 3D gel or acrylic molds to get the affect. But, according to The Daily Mail, one can make their very own sweater nails at home using layers of polish and a detail brush. And thus you too can rock your favorite cozy sweater on your body and hands at the same damn time!
While we feel that nail art is an excellent form of self expression, this trend feels… silly. It’s November. We get it. Sweaters are necessary but soon we shall wear gloves, which, when you think about it, are kind of like sweaters for your hands. Why do your nails need their very own, extremely time consuming sweaters? Answer: they do not.
But then again, if you’re into it, go forth and conquer the sweater nail. We recommend checking out Whoopi Goldberg’s (fashion queen!) holiday sweater line for inspiration.
