See How Oprah Savagely Shaded Her BFF

The definition of "Have your people call my people."

Published December 8, 2016

Oprah and Gayle King have been BFFs for literally 40 years. That’s a long, looooong time. And when you’ve been friends with somebody for that long, you don’t need to worry about little things like politeness. So last year, Oprah shared her disappointment with Gayle for wearing bright red lipstick on CBS This Morning. And two days ago, she once again voiced her displeasure with one of Gayle’s sartorial choices.

Oprah apparently sent a note to Gayle’s assistant reading, “plz tell Gayle I’m on treadmill & it’s hard to focus w/ the circus around your neck."

For reference. Here is the necklace in question:

I look at this picture, and my heart swells 10 sizes. It’s so good. And while Gayle may think she is “WRONG,” I think it is quite clear that Oprah is RIGHT.

You’d think the story would end there, but Gayle went on television again to talk about it, because the OJ Simpson trial created the 24-hour news cycle and thus every little joyous story must be obsessively analyzed until it is turned to dust.

Despite weathering Oprah’s savagery, Gayle is going to be just fine. She just inked a new $16.5 million deal with CBS, meaning she can buy an entire arsenal of brightly colored bib necklaces that Oprah hates. Keep shining, Gayle.
