Ladies, we know you're often shafted when it comes to beauty options. We've explored some reasons why that is in the past. A new site however, Marjani Beauty, is working to combat that unfortunate reality. Launched this year, Marjani is a beauty website that caters specifically to women of color. Think Sephora, but curated expressly for you.
The website was launched in February by Kimberly Smith, an attorney with an Ivy League background. Marjani hosts a mix of brands including mainstreamed items that you've heard of before, like Beauty Blender, and also some under-the-radar lines you've probably never heard of.
“While I want to feature cult favorites, it’s equally important to me to discover and feature unknown or newer brands that are entering the women of color beauty space,” Smith said.
Marjani offers an exclusive foundation match program. Here's how it works. You buy a foundation from within the program. When it arrives, it comes with a sample so you can try it out before you commit to opening the full-size bottle. If it's not your shade, simply return the full-size item within 14 days. Sounds kinda ideal, no?
We love brilliant ideas developed by POCs for POCs. Will you be trying Marjani?
