Taraji P Henson is on the new cover of Marie Claire and she is owning this edgy look!
Marie Claire dropped it’s new October cover today and the host of Black Girls Rock 2017 graced the glossy’s front page. Taraji rocks a short auburn haircut while wearing a $3,175 red-and-blue Versace dress accessorized with Tiffany and Co. and Hearts on Fire jewels.
Inside the issue, the actress flaunts a DVF sheer black dress with embellishments in shades of blue. When asked about the legacy she wants to leave behind, Taraji says, “I love black people...I want these literally girls to study me like I studied Meryl and Bette Davis and Carol Burnett. I want them to study my work, because I put a lot of work in, a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.”
The Empire star is also shot up close, showing off her perfectly beat face by MAC Cosmetics for the spread, in which she talks about being a hater, especially amongst women. Taraji explains, “How can we get ahead if we’re feuding and hating on each other all the time? I made a pact years ago that I would never hate on another female….”
Hope y’all are taking notes out there because this message is great for all the ladies out there aiming and hustling for success. We in this together!
So, basically, Taraji is killing 2017. From Black Girls Rock to Proud Mary and the fourth season of Empire, to being a cover girl, the grind doesn’t stop. Keep doing you, Cookie. We’ll wait for what’s next.
