All-Star NBA player Chris Paul launched a limited-edition men’s accessories collection with Hook & Albert and BET Style has all the details!
Hook & Albert, a global leader in innovative men’s accessories, announced a limited edition capsule collection with the nine-time All-Star. Hook & Albert are known for their unique pieces for men, so it’s no shocker that they teamed up with a stylish guy like Chris Paul to collaborate. Chris continues to flex his muscle in the fashion arena. Not just with sneakers, but with clothing like his capsule collection with Five Four.
Now, the stylish athlete has dropped a dope collection focused on accessories.
Chris is a friend of BET Style, so we were able to catch up with him to talk about the collection. We were curious to know how exactly the collection came about. “Because the NBA has become more style conscious, I've really expanded my interest in men's accessories, from socks to lapel pins to the luggage I travel with. Hook & Albert has unquestionably mastered the accessory movement in menswear.” Chris responded. He continued with, “I spend most of the year traveling all over the country. So in essence, I live out of my luggage. With that being said, it’s so important to me to have all my essentials organized and look cool on the road with me.”
The limited collection will consist of a newly featured backpack and a dopp kit along with an advanced iteration of the brand’s famed and groundbreaking garment weekender bag. Each of these styles will be available in both a slate gray and midnight black featuring pebbled leather and custom gold hardware. In addition to leather goods, the collaboration will also feature a curated collection of lapel accessories offered in a variety of colors. The collection is a thoughtful representation of Chris Paul’s appreciation of fabrics and leathers. If you're confused about which item you want, Chris has some advice: “The bookbag! It's functional with compartments for all of my cords and whatever I'm reading that month, but also it's really a luxury piece.”
When stepping out, we say the best thing to do to style up your look is to add the right accessories as complements. The dapper athlete feels the same way. “I will not wear a suit or sport coat without a lapel pin. Often they are vintage or antiques that we find all over the world. It's a way to add a little history to my look" Chris said.
Over time, Chris has developed his eye when it comes finding perfect accessories. “I have a great relationship with a jeweler for special pieces," he told us. "Courtney, my stylist, is a fan of flea markets and antique shops and she often brings back whatever interesting vintage pins or one-of-a-kind pieces she finds.”
The design seen throughout the entirety of the collection honors Chris Paul’s grandfather, who owned a service station while he was growing up and holds substantial meaning to him. The HOOK & ALBERT X CHRIS PAUL collection retails from $30 to $585 and is available now. Also, a portion of proceeds will benefit The Chris Paul Family Foundation.
