Fashion connoisseurs quickly called foul after noticing several items from Kim Kardashian’s Kid Supply clothing line were identical to pieces curated by Rei Kawakubo and Demna Gvasalia. While many supporters quickly took to social media venting their frustrations with Kardashian, reps for the reality starlet say it’s all one big misunderstanding.
“The idea behind Kids Supply is to give people the opportunity to purchase things that would never be available for children otherwise. We decided to release the Demma dress after making one on our own for North because it go such a great reaction and overflow for people wanting it for their children,” reps for the line said in a statement to PageSix.com.
Proving just how much inspiration Kardashian drew from the designers, the statement added, “We named it the Demna dress to pay homage to him as it was one of Kim and North’s favorite mommy and me moments. The Rei jacket was a mixture of some of our favorite souvenir jacket art...We named it the Rei Jacket out of the utmost respect for her.”
More than just paying tribute to some of her favorite designers, Kardashian’s Kid Supply plans to donate 100% of the proceeds from both pieces to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
All drama aside, who could really be mad at that?
