Get A Look At Virgil Abloh's First Day At Louis Vuitton
Virgil Abloh was recently announced as Louis Vuitton’s newest menswear designer and yesterday (April 20), was the Kanye West-affiliated visionary’s first day on the job.
Via Louis Vuitton’s Instagram Story, which was reposted by Hypebeast, you can see video of Abloh getting used to his office, which dons Supreme and Louis Vuitton collaborative carpeting, and lets his new colleagues in on what motivates him as a designer.
“The biggest goal … is to start so people can understand the new vocabulary.” he told everyone. “I wanna introduce a hardware that’s native to the garment.”
Previously, Virgil Abloh created his label Off-White™, an “Outerwear” brand that caught fire, especially with his custom shoes.
During an interview with the New York Times, Abloh says his new job gives him the opportunity to push his creative boundaries.
“I feel elated,” Abloh told the Times. “This opportunity to think through what the next chapter of design and luxury will mean at a brand that represents the pinnacle of luxury was always a goal in my wildest dreams. And to show a younger generation that there is no one way anyone in this kind of position has to look is a fantastically modern spirit in which to start.”
