Nike is known for using the most innovative, new-age technology to deliver sleek, performance-ready kicks that we all love. And the Jordan Brand is no different.
On October 18, the Jordan Brand will drop the Air Jordan XXXIII, which were developed with Nike’s FastFit technology. These kicks are also the first of many that will introduce Jordan’s new culture of design- Flight Utility. Check out the new Air Jordans below:
The new design by Tate Kuerbis features both Jordan Brand’s Flight Speed technology and the Nike Zoom Air unit. And just under the arch, there is a circular cut-out revealing the FastFit machinery.
In a statement made by David Creech, Jordan Brand’s creative director, he describes Jordan’s new innovative style by saying, “Flight Utility is about designing for the future – extrapolating from the core Jordan Brand DNA along an innovation and function-first approach.”
As for Nike’s FastFit technology, it’s features loops on the tongue and heel to allow easier entry. They also include a tightening system that is activated by cables with just one tug of a strap creates a full 360-lockdown as well as simple eject by pulling the side loops to release the cables. I mean, these fire kicks are perfect for any baller trying to step up their game.
According to the Nike website, “Like all of the Jordan models post the XXX, the XXXIII also features subtle design cues from the past. The window to the tightening system mimics the original Air window, and the use of “Nike Air” on the heel tab is a reflection of the III, IV, V and VI. The extra-large tongue is also the perfect canvas for a Jumpman — just as it was when Hatfield debuted the logo on the III.”
Michael Jordan is definitely excited for new innovations to the Air Jordan. He says, “From day one, we’ve taken pride in the Air Jordan game shoe, where we focus on athlete insights and the latest innovations to create silhouettes that are distinctly Jordan.”
