The ‘Bad Gal’ Rihanna Is Being Sued Over Her Fenty Puma Designs
Rihanna and Puma are being sued by a company named Freedom United for use of the “FU” logo.
According to TMZ, The Freedom United brand has been around since 2006 and Rihanna knew all about them. The suit claims that the 30-year-old Rhianna superstar was photographed in one of their hoodies back in 2014, and mentioned that her ex Chris Brown attended Freedom United’s launch party back in 2007, while they were dating.
This isn’t the first time Freedom United tried to stop Fenty Puma from using their trademarked “FU” logo. The brand sent out a cease-and-desist letter back in March, but Puma clapped back with their own letter stating that there was no infringement because Rihanna’s “F.U.” for Fenty University used a different font and "FU" isn’t a unique trademark. The brand is also suing Puma for an order prohibiting future sales and damages.
Take a look at the logos below and you decide for yourself.
Whew, chile, it sounds like RiRi and Puma are in hot water. We’ll have to stand by to see how this scandal plays out.
