A September cover is the most coveted issue a celebrity can land, so you can only imagine the excitement we have every year as we round up all of the #BlackGirlMagic and #BlackBoyJoy gracing them.
For fashion magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue, their issues are considered the “fashion bibles,” so when we see these iconic figures, it’s a celebration for us all.
British Vogue tapped Duchess Meghan Markle to be their first-ever guest editor, which featured 15 powerful women on the cover. Meghan asked that one box be left empty to represent a mirror as a way to include the reader as someone who can also effect change.
ICYMI: Laverne Cox continues to shatter glass ceilings as the first openly trans women to also be on the cover.
"Guest Editing the September issue of British Vogue has been rewarding, educational and inspiring. To deep dive into this process, working quietly behind the scenes for so many months, I am happy to now be able to share what we have created. A huge thanks to all of the friends who supported me in this endeavor, lending their time and energy to help within these pages and on the cover," Meghan explained in an caption from her official Instagram account.
Other highlights include Alicia Keys covering Harper's Bazaar’s icons issue, which also features a spread of top-charting rapper Cardi B. Our girl Jordyn Woods has shown us that a minor setback just makes for a bigger comeback as she dons in yellow on the cover of Cosmopolitan UK.
If you have been on the internet, then you know it’s been a Hot Girl Summer, so Paper magazine had the right idea to place Megan Thee Stallion on the cover of their digital issue for September. She is staying true to herself and her love of anime cartoons, calling herself “Todoroki Tina.”
Take a look at all of the melanin magic on magazine covers below:
Musical legend, Stevie Wonder and his two sons, Kailand and Mandla cover the latest issue of ODDA magazine.
The family looked every bit of amazing wearing looks from Dior and accessories by Cartier. The cover story was photographed by industry legend, David LaChapelle.
ODDA posted the image on Instagram with a caption that read, "ODDA 19 speaks on the delicate balance and union between all of humanity and Mother Nature, the interconnectedness of our lives and emotions, and highlights the importance of family and connecting to one another for support since at the end of the day, we all belong to the same planet, we are all ultimately ONE."
There’s no stopping Lizzo’s star power! The Grammy award-winner is currently gracing the April cover of Marie Claire Brazil and looking absolutely fabulous.
Channeling Diana Ross, the “Good As Hell” singer is wearing a custom one-shoulder, grey sequin gown by Rober Dognani. Lizzo stuns in this gorgeous dress along with sparkly Chanel earrings and Alexandre Birman multi-color metallic heels. The cover was styled by Ana Wainer and Jason Rembert and photographed by Luisa Dörr.
Lizzo is on top of her A-game and serving on this cover!
