This Resort In The Bahamas Only Accepts Plus-Size Patrons

See why it’s a utopia for some.

Did someone say a holiday beach getaway? Recently, a resort for plus-size guests opened on the Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas. Its purpose, of course: to make people feel amazing about their bodies.

The Resort is a safe haven for plus-size individuals to be able to just be themselves without fear of outside judgment.

The idea of The Resort came about when the owner, James King, was working at a resort in Grenada. "A young woman sat down in one of the loungers, and she went right through it, and everybody on the beach was laughing. The next day I was in my office, and I hear screaming and yelling, and she was having a fit because the owner’s policy was that she was charged $150 for destruction of hotel property. And I thought that it was insane,” King explains to PEOPLE.

They have almost five miles of private beach and fresh water pool. The Resort rate includes meals and airport transfers for a fee of $10,600 with beverages and gratuities being on the honor system. Also they don't have seasonal rate changes as most Caribbean resorts do, so this makes it very appealing and you can save those coins!
