The annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is coming up later this month (Nov. 28) and while the famed catwalk has yet to feature a plus-size model, one curvy beauty is making her case to be a VS Angel. Model Tabria Majors posted a few Victoria’s Secret ads that she recreated to Instagram. The shots are stunning, so it’s no wonder they quickly spread on social media.
Tabria’s IG caption reads, “Maybe I’ll be a Victoria’s Secret Angel this year for Halloween, since it ain’t happening in real life lol. Just paying homage to a few of my favorite pics/outfits from VS here and showing that curvy girls can rock (and sell) lingerie just as well as straight size models."
In response to the attention, she told Huffington Post Canada “I really want to open the discussion of inclusivity in mainstream media.” She continues, “I just want to know why they, and so many other companies, don't cater to the average-sized woman."
The lingerie giant may not be calling up Tabria just yet, but Sports Illustrated did and named her one of their Swimsuit Issue’s six open casting call finalists. Catch her in the mag’s 2018 Swimsuit Issue. The winner will receive an entire spread as a rookie model in the 2019 issue. We’re all rooting for Tabria!
