Recreating anything in the likeliness of Beyoncé without her permission is the ultimate no-no. One Brooklyn brewery found out how serious Queen Bey is about protecting her image the hard way.
LineUp Brewing reportedly received a cease and desist letter over the beer they created in homage of the R&B songstress, reports PitchFork.com. Katarina Martinez, owner of the brewery, revealed that Bïeryoncé, a pilsner beer, came to fruition after she missed one of Bey’s concerts.

Dishing on her surprise over the controversy surrounding the brew, Martinez told PitchFork.com, “As a Hispanic, female-run business, I am very inspired by her so I thought I’d pay homage...We’re disappointed that she didn’t take it as a compliment, but oh well -- it was fun while it lasted!”
While Bïeryoncé, a one-time batch, will be available while supplies last, LineUp has successfully created brews in honor of other notable celebs including: Notorious B.I.G, David Bowie, Freddie Mercury and Carly Simon.
