Growing up a Kardashian-West, you may think you’d have gifts galore, but according to Kim Kardashian, she’s “frugal” and she's not about to spoil her three children with endless presents.
In a “Money Diary,” written for Wealthsimple, Kim opened up about how she learned money management at a young age from her late father, lawyer Robert Kardashian, her hopes to pass it on to her children, and even how she upholds her household budget, although at times she admits it can be hard with a family of five.
“I know what I spend monthly and what it costs to run my household and what it costs to run this home. It’s hard all the time to stick within a budget, for sure, but I think it’s a good guideline,” the wealthy KUWTK reality star shared.
Although the family's actual budget was not disclosed because Kim finds it to be “tacky” and “inappropriate,” she did disclose that there is no check written without her signature.
“I’m really on top of my financial situation. I do everything. I see everything, write every check, I'm on top of every last detail,” the 37-year-old confessed.
Although she’s been “downsizing,” Kim affirms she cannot control her “big shopper” husband, Kayne West. “He has big archives of stuff. He shops for furniture. He shops for, like, everything.”
ICYMI: Kanye is the same man who completely trashed all of Kim’s clothing when they first started dating and brought her a brand new wardrobe filled with designer fashions.
Now Kim states she doesn’t like presents anymore from her hubby, nor does she just buy gifts for her children, North, Saint, and Chicago.
“I don’t like presents anymore. I just don’t want that stuff right now. I don’t buy a lot,” she shared. “I worry about giving my kids too much. We don’t do gifts. They have to really earn it. But we talk about it all the time, about not getting too much and just trying to be as grounded and well rounded as possible.”
In her efforts to down-size, she has been getting rid of luxury items, including her fancy cars.
“I've been getting rid of my cars. I used to really care. I loved cars. I still like them and I have a certain look, but I don’t care like I used to. I don’t need my flashy car. It doesn’t really matter to me.”
Could we be witnessing a maturing Kim K? We sure think so!
