Gabrielle Union shocked TF out of everyone when she announced she and Dwyane Wade had a baby girl via surrogacy, so how’s motherhood going for her? While we picture the 46-year-old actress singing her baby girl to sleep with her notorious Clovers cheer form Bring It On, we’re sure she’s the real deal. And from what we see on social media, she is!
In a recent interview with Women's Health, Gabrielle revealed that she felt as though other mom's would judge her since she wasn't carrying her child herself. She even says she felt like a failure as a women. Though she didn't carry Kaavia, she did have to go through some bodily changes during her IVF treatments.
“Small chunks of hair were falling out. At 9 a.m. I had a flat stomach. By noon, I looked like I was five months pregnant.”
And finding the perfect surrogate wasn't easy either. The Being Mary Jane star wanted her surrogate to have one particular trait while carrying baby Kaavia, and it's not what you'd expect!
"Some people care about the race, religion or food habits of their surrogate. I was like, ‘I want a reader,’" she admitted and remembers that the woman she chose said, "I love the smell of the pages.”
Gabrielle and Dwyane already seem to be setting Kaavia up for greatness and enjoying the life of being new parents!
