Kanye West has officially reached full Yeezus metamorphosis!
We should have seen it coming, but for those who didn’t, 'Ye and friends have been praising and worshiping together every Sunday.
The “Heard ‘Em Say” rapper and his wife, Kim Kardashian, have been welcoming friends and family to their home, which is packed with worshipers who get down with the gospel according to Yeezy.
While there are few details about the new church services the Wests have been hosting, we do have a few tidbits thanks to the first lady of the “church,” who has been sharing some videos and photos of the star-studded Sunday worship.
We all knew that Kanye was on spiritual journey after he started holding weekly Sunday Service jam sessions, but we had no idea just how serious he is about his renewed religious awakening. In fact, over the weekend, he revealed his conversion to Christianity became real this year.
While visiting Howard University in Washington D.C. for a pop-up service, the “Jesus Walks” rapper he shared his beliefs.
“If you believe that Jesus died for your sins, then you know the gospel... it's simple. Christians we be making it too hard for people to come and be involved in this."
A video obtain by TMZ, showed the rapper speaking to an audience who were there to attend a listening party for his highly anticipated new album, Jesus Is King—which will be accompanied by a film, set to hit IMAX theaters Oct. 25.
"I'm not here for your entertainment. We're here to spread the gospel," he said to applause, in a video.
'Ye was all smiles as he joked about his favorite version of the Bible, which is King James because it says “ye” throughout.
"Excuse me if I mispronounce anything,” he told listeners while reading a few Bible verses. “I'm a recent convert that means I recently got saved this year."
This goes the same for his children who were baptized over the weekend at one of the oldest churches in the world in his wife's family's homeland, Armenia.
Reportedly, Placerita Bible Church's Senior Pastor Adam Tyson, has been leading the rapper/producer in bible study for months now.
"Kanye started visiting our church back in mid-May," Tyson told Fox News. "He asked me to help him to learn more about God from the Bible so, I started a Bible study with him and others in Calabasas in August."
In a song played at the listening party, a song titled, "Closed on Sunday," Ye sings, "You my Chick-fil-A... follow Jesus."
Per usual, Kanye West's latest Sunday Services came with a surprise--or two, or three! This Sunday, 'Ye brought his praise and worship session to the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral in Jamaica Queens along with his 150-voice choir, his nine-man band and his family in tow. And, of course, there weas plenty of star power in attendance. Swizz Beatz and Rick Fox posed with Kanye after the service, and TMZ reporting that Akon and Alexander Wang were also in attendance.
While we all wait in anticipation for the release of his Jesus Is King album, Kanye broke out into an impromtu freestyle before announcing that he'll no longer be releasing secular music. In his freestyle, Kanye shouts out Akon, Swizz Beatz, Alexander Wang and his wifey, Kim Kardashian West, who was sitting front row with their two eldest children, Saint and North West.

'Ye is definitely capitalizing around the buzz of his infamous Sunday Service performances! He continues to have a 'Jesus Is King' album experience at New York’s United Palace. He also announced his 'Jesus Is King' documentary being released in IMAX October 25.
Per usual, Kanye's Sunday Service had a star-studded guest list as stars like T.I., 2 Chainz, Jermaine Dupri, Chris Tucker, Nelly and more stopped by after leaving the REVOLT Summit in Atlanta this Sunday.
Just like his Chicago service, Ye was welcomed with open arms into a local church, the New Birth Missionary Baptist church, to a crowd of 600 plus people who, according to Billboard, were lined up hours before the service to get a chance to hear Kanye's choir perform gospel rendition's of his songs and classic R&B tracks, like Ginuwine's 'So Anxious.'
Along with his typical praise and worship sessions, Kanye offered a special sermon this week, speaking on the importance of accepting both God's power along with His plan for you. This comes after his wife, Kim Kardashian West, spoke to the ladies of The View about how Kanye used his Sunday Services as a form of 'self-healing,' how they served as an evolution in which he was 'born again,' and how he is now ready to share his Christian, musical ministry with the world.
Kanye has come a long way! Ever since videos of his infamous, star-studded Sunday Services surfaced on the internet, there have been LOTS of questions. With him announcing the release of his new album, 'Jesus Is King,' on September 27, people are considering his true intentions. Is this a publicity stunt or is he truly trying to bring the word of God to the people through song and dance?

Kanye's Sunday Service this week will definitely go down in history! The Yeezus rapper brought his infamous Sunday praise and worship session to his hometown of Chicago. And he was definitely welcomed with open arms, as Def Jam reports turnout of 10,000 people showing up to the Huntington Bank Pavilion at Chi-Town's Northerly Island ready to bask in the glory of their hometown hero.
As if he weren't already playing up his messiah trope, Kanye is seen with his bodyguard, fighting through his see of fans as his choir sings sweet harmonies in the background. At one point, Kanye simply turns towards his bodyguard and utters, "Step back," smiling as he continues to say, "Watch this. This is my city." And just as he prophesied, the crowd moves out of his way with a simple hand gesture.
This Sunday was obviously something special for Ye. Kanye got emotional watching as Chance The Rapper performed his 2016 hit 'Ultralight Beam'; smiled seeing the congregation bopping along as he performed more remixed songs, like his rendition of Nelly Furtado's 'I'm Like A Bird' entitled 'The Living Word,' his classic tracks like 'Jesus Walks' and other unreleased tracks; and even brought Sunday Service to an actual church, stopping by the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church on the South Side.
We've witnessed Kanye doing some pretty bizarre things over the years, but this might top all those other instances. At Kanye's recent Sunday Service, a bystander caught the rapper apparently eating ear wax out of his ear and the Internet is up in arms about it!
While some social media users are disgusted by his actions, others say him touching his mouth after picking in his ear is circumstantial and he was just getting something off his lip. Either way, this whole video is pretty confusing!
After reports stated that Kanye and Kim Kardashian pleaded with the White House for Rocky's release from Swedish authorities, we're guessing he thought it would only be right to pay the Wests a visit. He was even seen chatting with his ex, Kendall Jenner, at the latest Church of Yeezus gathering.
Kanye West has truly elevated his Sunday services into something everyone is checking for come Monday morning. You wouldn't think that Grindin' by Clipse or Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana could be transformed into a praise and worship hymnal but, somehow, Kanye has managed to do it!
At his recent Sunday service (July 28), Kanye West and his choir gave another exclusive, hilltop performance to the congregation with a grand entrance featuring a full band. Instead of doing renditions of classic songs, Kim Kardashian captured video of her husband's remixes with switched up lyrics of songs by Shai, Snoop Dogg, Clipse, Nirvana and more!
If you were moved by those inspirational tracks, these are on a whole other level! Gwen Stefani says she was even brought to tears when Kanye and his choir performed a remix of Don't Speak by No Doubt.
However, #BlackTwitter seems to have mixed reactions on these remixes since the orginals were not of a wholesome nature. What do you think?
Since Sunday Service started popping up on our Instagram feeds, we couldn't help but notice North West singing along to the music and coming up with her own choreography!
At the recent Sunday Service (June 23), Kanye West's 6-year-old daughter officially joined the actual choir and was even matching with them in her own unifrom garb of an all white outfit while following their choreography.
Proud mommy Kim Kardashian West captioned her Instagram story video capturing the moment and said, "North is officially in the choir!!! (& not the kids choir) & even goes to rehearsals. She loves it."
Although Sunday’s service was stuck inside this week, according to Kim, it was still perfection.
“There’s so many videos from today’s Sunday service I want to share with you guys. The rain forced us inside but it was magical,” Kim wrote on her Twitter. “No mics, no band, no speakers, but it was perfect.”
Kim posted a series of Twitter videos, including a clip of Sia performing her hit song, "Elastic Heart," with a gospel choir.
“The choir sang Sia’s "Elastic Heart" song and changed the words to a gospel song,” Kim shared in an Instagram story.
Amongst the other videos included a clip of Kanye's 5-year-old daughter, North West, living her best life with the best seat in the house— perched on someone's shoulders.
According to a close source to the rapper, Kanye may be considering opening a church after successfully taking over Coachella with his ministries.
“He is extremely passionate about his faith and wants to share it more regularly with people,” a source told PEOPLE magazine. “He spends a lot of time studying and praying, and wants to share his journey.”
With a vision to have people of all different races, ethnicities, beliefs, and politics being able to “to come together to worship God and love other people,” it may just happen, although it won’t be completely traditional.
“He has talked about starting his own church, and what exactly that would be,” the source added. “It wouldn’t be the traditional, three-hymns-and-a-sermon thing. Instead, it would be a way to point people to Jesus through the arts and through a community of people who love and care for each other. He also wants his kids to be raised in faith, and the best way for him to do that is to live out his faith.”
For those worried about him being sincere, the source vouched for the rapper.
“Say what you want about Kanye, but he really does want to help people who need support,” the source said. “He understands brokenness and the need for healing, probably more than most people. He believes in the healing powers of music, but also believes that God can step in and heal people’s brokenness and their issues.”
Kanye West's highly anticipated Easter Sunday service at Coachella finally happened, and there was A LOT going on.
To date, Kanye West’s Sunday services have been exclusive events that regular folks caught snippets of from the KarJenner clan's Instagram Stories or other places on social media. Coachella goers were given a chance to experience it all as they were led down a two-and-a-half-mile path to a man-made mountain where prayer was led by DMX.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Kanye delivered a two-and-a-half hour set featuring soulful renditions of his choir and liturgical dancers performing in mauve outfits along with Teyana Taylor, Ty Dolla $ign, Chance The Rapper, Kid Cudi and more praising together on the hill. They performed classic Kanye hits, "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1," "All Falls Down," "Power" and "Otis,” as well as a holy performance of "Ultralight Beam" with Chance the Rapper. They also covered R&B classics like "Outstanding" by the Gap Band, "Do I Do" by Stevie Wonder, and "Summer Madness" by Kool & the Gang. Then, Kanye debuted his new track, “Water.”
From the KarJenner camp, Kim Kardashian West, Khloe Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Penelope Disick, Mason Disick, North West, and Kris Jenner were joined by Corey Gamble, Travis Scott, Lukas Sabbat, Younes Bendijima and North and Penelope’s mini-entourage. As for the rest of the star-studded V.I.P. section, 2 Chainz and Childish Gambino (with his family) were seen worshiping with Kanye.
To commemorate his Sunday services, Ye launched his own take on wearing your Sunday best. His “CHURCH CLOTHES” included apparel like “Jesus Walks” socks ($50), tie dye “Holy Spirit” crew necks ($225) and more still available for purchase online.
Just in time for #FBF, proud mommy Kim posted a series of videos on Instagram Stories ahead of Kanye's big Easter service at Coachella showing North West tapping into her inner musical genius, and it's a complete mood!
The adorable 5-year-old debuted her solo skills, with all eyes on her as she grabbed the microphone during last Sunday's outdoor service.
So talented! As if that wasn't enough, North even accompanied her dad as he rapped "Jesus Walks."
North West, dressed in a feathery top, is making it clear that she was born to stand out and show out!
The 5-year-old continued to steal the show with her vocals at Kanye's Sunday service again. On Palm Sunday, North enlisted her mini-entourage, including cousin Penelope Disick, to sing her favorite line, "poopy-di scoop," from her dad's song "Lift Yourself" ahead of Ye's Coachellla Easter Sunday service. With the spirit of the music coming over her, North also unleashed some of her best dance moves.
Dressed in a bright orange ensemble, North West got into the spirit of Sunday service as she took on the role as a lead singer and dancer.
With her father smiling from ear to ear behind her, the 5-year-old could be seen holding the microphone as the gospel choir performed a rendition of Stevie Wonder's “As."
Kanye and his gospel choir rejoiced with good reason on a recent flight! 'Ye hopped on the aircraft's speaker and delivered the good news that his curated church experience is coming to Coachella 2019 with a special Easter Sunday service at sunrise.
This could be the last we see of the "Church of Ye," as Kanye West announced this Sunday that "This is the last time on the mountain, so y'all gotta party with us," according to Billboard. Per usual, North West danced to the beat of her own drum as she donned a snake-print outfit.
On the 12th Sunday of the spiritual retreat, celebrities like Tyler the Creator and Babyface were reportedly at the invite-only church service, as Kanye and his choir performed gospel renditions of tracks from Watch the Throne. According to the Daily Mail, the police were called due to noise complaints from residents in the neighborhood.
The 5-year-old was a whole mood when she jumped up and showed off her killer dance moves! However, some folks on the internet were not pleased about her lipstick.
If you haven't noticed, 'Ye and his choir are wearing white attire along with gifted Yeezy sneakers.
Keeping their style minimalistic, even some of the guests joined in and wore white/nude, although his daughter North West and a friend styled in neon looks.
Kanye West loves good visuals, so this lighting is definitely intentional.
From his songs “I Wonder” and “Heard 'Em Say” to classics like “Weak” by SWV and “Back to Life” by Soul II Soul, Kanye makes sure to give each song a gospel twist that is guaranteed to get you out of your seat.
One fan of the idea took to Instagram to share their thoughts, commenting, "Coolest church ever."
We wonder if the new gospel sound is something that we will be hearing on the new YANDHI album, which “The Jesus Walks” singer mentioned on his Twitter in 2018 as coming soon.
While he is praising and creating, we will be watching.
