Be Confident - It may be easier said than done, but once you strip away all the superficial stuff, many men are most attracted to women who are self-possessed and self-assured of who they are. It doesn’t mean you should be snotty or stuck up, it just means that you are confident enough in what you have to offer that you can make yourself vulnerable enough to approach a stranger.(Photo: Marnie Burkhart/Corbis)

Make Eye Contact - But don’t just make it, hold it. Sustained eye contact is super-intimate, and it will signal your intentions before you even open your mouth. (Photo: Steve Prezant/Corbis)

Approach With a Smile - When you’re ready to connect, walk up with a smile on your face. You’re warm and interested in getting to know him, and a smile will instantly signal that. (Photo: Tim Hale Photography/Corbis)

Ask a Question - Men love to answer questions and solve problems. But don’t play dumb and ask him something you already know. If you’re at a bar, maybe ask him to suggest a drink you might like. If you don't know what song is playing, ask if he does. If he’s sitting alone on the train, ask if the seat beside him is taken. Ask where he bought his cool T-shirt. Asking a question gives him a reason to speak back.(Photo: Tim Robbins/Mint Images/Corbis)
