Tamar Braxton has launched the summer 2015 line of her fashion collection and BET.com was on hand to check out the new pieces. Braxton, a fan of clothes and sales alike, shared the inspiration behind her latest designs and what sets the Tamar Collection apart from any other.
“What makes my collection stand out to me is the quality of the clothes. I feel like I went to Bergdorf or Neiman’s or Saks and spent my coin when I didn’t,” Braxton said. “For me, I love having the feeling of having an amazing piece and I know all the girls out there we love clothes, I know we do, but we also love a sale. And we also love to feel like we’re getting a lot for a little bit and I believe in that strategy because it only takes a little bit of confidence to make somebody else smile, to make yourself smile.”
Braxton was also adamant that the affordability of her pieces would not diminish their quality and this mission was inspired by the women she’s met on the road.
“What inspired me to start a clothing line is all the people that I’ve met just from being on tour, just from being on the street. Everywhere I go, I meet women and they want to feel fabulous,” she said. “They don’t want to spend a whole lot of money and I feel them because I’m not here for that either, but at the same time, they want something quality because having something quality makes you feel a little bit extra special and I get that.”
