Earth, Wind & Fire

Earth, Wind & Fire is a genre-bending band, most popular in the 1970s and 1980s, that infused the elements of funk, R&B, jazz and soul into their music. Singers Maurice White and Philip Bailey layered their vocals atop the band’s precision horn section and wide range of rich instrumentation. Earth, Wind & Fire has won six Grammy awards, including the 1975 No. 1 funk hit “Shining Star,” which was a breakout single from their soundtrack album, That’s the Way of the World.
