El DeBarge

Of all of the entertainment industry’s great comeback stories, few have been as inspiring as the return of Eldra “El” DeBarge. The R&B crooner’s sensitive falsetto was heard on classic songs like “All this Love” and “I Like It” by his family group DeBarge, and on popular solo efforts like “Rhythm of the Night” and “Who’s Holding Donna Now.” After serving a prison term for drug possession, he and his three-octave range returned a decade later with the aptly titled Second Chance album, featuring Babyface, Faith Evans and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
