Heather Headley

Heather Headley is an R&B singer, songwriter, producer and actress. She got her start on Broadway and in 1997 she originated the role of Nala in the hit Broadway musical The Lion King. She then went on to play the first Aida in the Broadway musical and earned a Tony Award for Best Actress in 2000. Due to her stage success she decided to release an album in 2002, This Is Who I Am, and though it only achieved moderate commercial success, Headley earned two Grammy nominations for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best New Artist. In 2010, Headley earned her first Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album for her album Audience of One.
