Laura Izibor

Born in Dublin, Ireland, to an Irish mother and a Nigerian father, Izibor was drawn to music at an early age, teaching herself to play piano at 14. Her career started when she won a 2002 song contest with her original composition "Compatible." She followed up that victory by winning a Hope for 2006 Meteor Music Award. Many songs from her 2009 debut Let the Truth Be Told, like the infectious "Mmm...," have been given new lives through film and TV. As she secured a role on CW drama One Tree Hill, her song "Shine" was also featured on an episode, putting her sound under the spotlight.
