Mystic is an Oakland-based MC who got her start in the industry recording and touring with the rap group Digital Underground. Her 2001 solo debut, Cuts for Luck and Scars for Freedom, garnered comparisons to hip hop legend Lauryn Hill for her socially conscious rap style.  In 2002, she was nominated for Best Female Hip Hop Artist at the BET Awards, and in 2003, her debut LP was re-released with five bonus tracks.  The Grammy-nominated lyricist has worked with several other artists, including Kayne West, Mos Def and Trina.
