Super Cat

Jamaican DJ/Toaster

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Super Cat emerged as a popular and trendsetting figure in the positive-consciousness dancehall movement, thanks to his unique blend of roots reggae, hip hop and R&B. Given the birth name William Maragh, this Jamaican DJ and toaster started his own label, Wild Apache productions, but was introduced to mainstream audiences via his Columbia release, Don Dada. He reteamed with Nicodemus, Junior Demus and Junior Cat for the album The Good, the Bad, the Ugly and The Crazy and also released 1995’s The Struggle Continues.  Super Cat was also the featured toaster on the Sugar Ray smash hit single, “Fly.”
