Travie McCoy

Travis “Travie” McCoy is the lead singer for the hip hop/rock hybrid group Gym Class Heroes. In 2002, McCoy won a rap battle on MTV’s Direct Effect TV show, which earned him an appearance in Styles P’s video “Daddy Get That Cash.” Gym Class Hero’s 2005 breakout album The Papercut Chronicles introduced their mashup sound to the masses. McCoy also introduced his then-girlfriend pop singer Katy Perry in the video for “Cupid’s Chokehold/Breakfast in America.” After the success of GCH, McCoy signed to T-Pain’s Nappy Boy Entertainment for his solo album Lazarus, which debuted in 2010 with the smash lead single “Billionaire,” featuring Bruno Mars.
