Tricia Rose

Tricia Rose is a famed cultural critic and American educator who currently teaches Africana Studies at Brown University. She's also an award-winning author who broke ground with her debut, Black Noise: Rap Music and Black Culture in Contemporary America, a work that has been deemed one of the most important books in hip hop studies. As a lecturer, the New York-bred scholar has traveled the country speaking on issues ranging from Black American culture to social inequality and everything in-between. Starting July 2013, Rose will be Brown University's Director of the Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America.
