V.V. Brown

Born Vanessa Brown in Northampton, England, V.V. played trumpet and piano at an early age. She honed her musical chops by studying jazz greats and playing in bands. She has grown into a model, songwriter and producer with a retro style that gives color to an era captured in black-and-white film. She lent her songwriting magic to the Sugababes' 2005 Top 20 U.K. single "Denial" and the Pussy Cat Dolls' 2007 single "I Don't Need a Man." Her debut album Traveling Like the Light included the 2010 single "Shark in the Water," which reached No. 11 on U.S. dance charts.
