Apple CEO to Pay Hefty Ransom for Home Run Ball

Tim Cook plans to give team's bullpen iPads and MacBook Airs for Brandon Moss's milestone homer.

Apple CEO Tim Cook got word of the Cleveland Indians' ransom of Brandon Moss's 100th home run ball and he's happy to help out.

Making the opening remarks at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco on Monday, Cook told the crowd about the Indians bullpen's ransom list of mostly Apple products and declared "we're paying the ransom" on behalf of Moss.

What Cook was referring to was Moss hitting his 100th career home run last Tuesday night and his teammates in the bullpen recovering the baseball and requesting a ransom list of mostly Apple products in exchange for it. The list included 11 Apple products (ranging from the iPhone 6 to iPads, MacBook Airs and Apple Watches), before getting to absurd requests such as $5,000 cash and a "50-gallon drum of lube."

The bullpen's ransom list spread across social media like wildfire...to the point where Cook even took notice, bringing it up at the WWDC.

Now that Cook has agreed to pay up, the Indians' bullpen is going to get their hearts-desire of Apple products and Moss will have his milestone home run ball.

Chalk this up to when baseball pranks go right! Cook must be a big baseball fan.
